Ohio BWC Plans Rebate
Ohio BWC Plans Rebate
July 05, 2018

Ohio’s Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has announced it will once again send rebate checks to most employers. This one-time rebate for private employers and public taxing districts will total approximately $1.5 billion. Most rebates will equal 85% of the employer’s premium for the policy year ending June 30, 2017.

Generally, employers who have been billed for premiums for the policy year ending June 30, 2017 and are current with their policy requirements are eligible. BWC will begin sending rebate checks in early July, with all checks to be mailed by early August.

Safer workplaces and fewer injuries have helped the BWC reduce rates and deliver rebates and credits to Ohio employers since 2011. Wise management of premium dollars collected from employers through prudent fiscal planning and strong investments also contribute to this rebate. More money in employers’ hands helps businesses and Ohio’s economy grow.
